Testimonials & Praise
I’ve been subscribed to Joanna’s Patreon for several years now. Initially, I hoped it would help me connect with my ancestral roots and learn more about the traditions of my family.
Joanna researches and writes articles about Polish folk craft with a great deal of thoroughness and care. At times she shares things I wouldn’t think to consider, like her series on beliefs and practices around the time of day.
These articles are fascinating and have helped hone my personal practice, but I have to say that my favorite part of being part of this Patreon has to be the community Joanna has created in Discord.
I’ve been in many online groups that have felt like fan clubs for the person who organized them, but this is definitely not one of those! Many different active members converse, chip in, problem solve, provide support and even rant when necessary. It’s a space where I feel that I can contribute, find support and be appreciated, and I believe others feel similarly. It also feels incredibly safe! I feel like it’s a testament to the grounded, down-to-earth approach Joanna has to her practice. And the ability to participate in study groups, book clubs and other collaborative activities is amazing and enriching.
I can’t recommend supporting Joanna’s work enough.

"There is truly no way to understate the impact that Joanna’s readings—and Patreon overall—have on me. My magic and my confidence have literally transformed thanks to her. There are major components of my practice and entire abilities of mine that wouldn’t have had the space to develop without her support and the structure of her Patreon. I am a different practitioner thanks to her. If you’re considering any of her services, do yourself a favor and stop considering; do it already. Your guides, your ancestors, your deities, and the land will thank you."

Joanna shares generously and authentically in so many ways. Her insight feels deeply rooted in personal experience, dedication and an intimate understanding of Polish folk traditions and customs. I am most grateful for her offerings, which offer a beautiful bridge to my Ancestral Land. Without a doubt her offerings feel this way to many others of the Slavic Diaspora.
Thank you!

Joanna, known as Polish Folk Witch, was the first person I came across on YouTube at a pivotal moment in my life when I was undergoing a shift in my spiritual and magical paradigm. Her videos opened the door to the fascinating world of traditional witchcraft, folk magic, and animism, helping me to understand these deep, authentic practices in a much clearer way.
Later on, I had the chance to join her Patreon, and honestly, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made on my spiritual journey. The content she offers is simply brilliant and abundant: exclusive videos, enriching Zoom meetings, and a Discord server where a knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate community gathers. Joanna is genuinely present and always willing to answer questions, clarify doubts, or share insights, which adds a unique, personal touch.
If you're seeking authentic content on traditional witchcraft and folk magic, especially with a focus on Slavic and Polish heritage, don’t hesitate—joining Joanna’s Patreon will be a transformative experience. Here, you’ll find a wealth of practices, theories, rituals, and carefully crafted videos. This space offers deep and valuable learning, whether you’re just taking your first steps or are already an experienced practitioner. Without a doubt, this community will become a fundamental resource for your magical growth and practice. You won’t regret it!

It's hard for me to put into words how much influence Joanna’s work has had on my practice. Let's start with the most mundane aspect - her compilation of texts on history, folklore and customs from different regions of Poland has saved me a ton of time. Her entries always include a bibliography, she is always ready to point out new sources and encourage further research.
I discovered animism in its not superficial form, but one that makes me think about my practice, its meaning and direction. It has opened me up to a whole new quality in my witchcraft practice.
Thanks to Toad Pond and bookclub, I've had the opportunity to try a myriad of techniques, finish projects, start new ones or deepen my relationship with spirits. I can say with confidence that I have grown significantly as a witch and am constantly finding new destinations on my path.
Discord is also worth mentioning. On it I find a lot of support, knowledge, understanding, but also humor. Our practices are often very different, from folk to ceremonial, from incorporating works with saints to shying away from anything Christian. We are from a variety of backgrounds. This provides an amazing opportunity to meet and learn from each other. We share experiences of making our own tools or working in the garden. There is always space to be inquisitive and try something new. Our meetings are an anticipated part of every month.
But remember, Joanna does not give categorical, unambiguous answers, she is not a guru after all, and that's good! She is open to everyone's practices, so different from each other in the end. If you are interested in Polish folklore, demonology, dual-faith, working with the Witches Devil and ancestors - you will find plenty of material for you.

Joanna’s entire patreon is a heartfelt love letter to her craft, her cultural heritage, and the land that she lives on. With a careful balance between curiosity and authority, she invites her community to take part in all that is sacred to her. Community has really been an important aspect to Joanna during all of her content creation, and as a result she has created an environment that both feels safe and nourishing for all. I will forever be grateful for all that she offers.

I've been a member of Joanna's Patreon for over two years now, and a witchcraft practitioner for over 20 years. I have witnessed a lot of occult spaces online in that span of time and i've also seen the ways that the craft has changed and been changed by the rapid growth of social media. I have never witnessed nor had the pleasure of being part of a healthy magickal community, until I joined Joanna's Patreon and became part of her discord group.
We have managed to cultivate a community despite all of us having different approaches, backgrounds, and paths. We even meet once a month to discuss a theme as a group that we've explored the month prior and to share our experiences. It's a wonderful way to feel community and also ensure you're attempting to be more regular and intentional with your practice. Joanna has cultivated something amazing both in this community and in the large body of ongoing work available in her patreon. I can't say enough good things about Joanna and her offerings, it's a pleasure to be part of it all.

First and foremost, you do NOT have to be Polish or Slavic to join Joanna’s community. I originally joined to learn more about Polish folk magic and learn more about my roots. What I did not expect to learn was how to be a better practitioner. I’m starting a journey into animism. I’m putting focus on my community and the local spirits of the land. I’m learning how to be a better ancestor. When joining on the Thaumaturge level, you gain access to information, exercises, and discussions that challenge you (in a good way) in order to make you better at your craft. Joanna and the community are very active, open, and provide support when you have questions or need advice. Now, in terms of Polish folk magic and folklore, Joanna’s research is a treasure. As a first gen American of Polish immigrants, this is what I was looking for. When reading her posts or listening to her recordings, you can see the amount of effort that has gone into the content. Joanna’s work and passion comes from the heart and it is felt throughout. When I first joined and started diving in, tears of joy started welling up in my eyes. Of course Polish folk magic wasn’t something I learned or expected to learn growing up, but I also wasn’t taught the mythology and folklore of my ancestors. I knew something was missing when it came to my roots and ancestry. Because of Joanna's work, I feel more connected and part of something bigger than myself.

I really enjoy Joanna’s Patreon Channel. There is so much information here it will take me a year to get through all of the articles, videos, and books etc. The archive is a treasure trove for the beginner to the advanced with detailed info on many subjects from Polish traditions to learning the craft and more... You also get access to a discord channel that is very welcoming and great place to take the discussion even further. I am so glad to have found this great resource. Joanna so generously shares her intense knowledge and is always quick to respond to any questions. You are going to love it here!!!
— Rose
Joanna is a thoughtful, giving, and well-researched writer and instructor, with a refreshingly down-to-earth style and approach to the topics she focuses on. Being part of Joanna's patreon and discord communities has helped clarify and expand many things from my own Polish heritage. She also attracts cool people, unsurprisingly, and like all the best teachers and facilitators, she is clearly always learning herself. If you are part of the diverse Slavic diaspora in general, the Polish diaspora specifically, or if you find inspiration in folk practices that are both rooted in a place and also applicable to modern life, I highly recommend Joanna's work.

I’ve been a part of Joanna’s Patreon for three years now, and it is by far the most valuable online community I have ever been a part of. Joanna not only provides a treasure trove of resources on Slavic folk magic, spirit work, animism, and traditional witchcraft, but she has also created a thriving space for fellow practitioners to share resources, hold group studies, offer advice, and make friends. Beyond that, she is so supportive and happy to answer questions. She is always releasing new well-researched and beautifully written articles on Polish folk practices that you can't find information on anywhere else, and her longer, ongoing book clubs and rune studies have been been incredibly valuable for me. Joanna has helped me reach new depths in my practice and I’ve gotten to meet so many wonderful practitioners in the process. There is no other magical resource I can recommend more.
— Nina
First of all, subscribing to Joanna’s patreon has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Her content is genuinely amazing, whether that be the in-depth explorations of various topics, or her personal experience and advice. Even though I am not an incredibly active participant in the discord community, this family of ours we have over here means so much to me. Long story short, I couldn’t recommend Joanna’s work enough.
— Michal
In Joanna’s online spaces I experience a combination of a deep sense of welcome and care as well as commitment to discernment and integrity of practice. Both these elements are gold in today’s cluttered occult online landscape.
Joanna is also a fantastic writer and speaker and brings words to things with clarity, beauty and humour. Her work on Polish folk magic is invaluable — not much of this seems to be available elsewhere for non Polish speakers. For those interested in Slavic folk magic and Polish folk tradition specifically, I really cannot recommend her work enough.

The Polish Folk Witch offers insightful and well-researched presentations on Polish Folk Magic, cultivates an amazing community of practitioners on Discord and encourages each person to pursue their unique magic path.
— J. F.
"Joanna’s work stands out in the crowded landscape of occult content. She is not only a dedicated practitioner, but a dedicated researcher, writer, and content producer. Beyond her own experience, she cites her sources and does not simply grab from obvious texts and resources, but also specifically from Polish sources and literature. She does the much needed work to bring Polish folklore and witchcraft to a worldwide non-academic audience."
— Heather S, @earth_and_craft
I found witchcraft at least six or seven years ago after being spiritually lost when I left behind Catholicism. I learned from so many witches from different paths but I always felt like something was missing. I tried connecting to Appalachia folk magic, but it never felt right. There were some witches of Slavic ancestry, who had put in the work in their research and are wonderful teachers but have been generations separated from being in their Slavic homeland.
Eventually, I found Joanna and Ylva Mara Radziszewski and the missing pieces were found. Due to the nature of my job, I don't actively do spell work like I did when I first identified as a witch, but the mentality is still there. Joanna provides a well researched and well worded sources of information that I both love and admire as a person and a researcher. I don't engage much on the discord but it's amazing to have a resource so readily available when I need more information on a subject within the Polish viewpoint of Slavic witchcraft.
Thank you so very much for providing this community and information. Your dedication can easily be seen by the content you release. I look forward to if/when your book becomes reality.
